Abstract : The organic carbon, phosphorus and potassium contents, pH and electrical conductivity were measured in soil samples from mango, plum and guava orchards and leaf samples were analysed for nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, iron and manganese. Leaf samples indicated phosphorus deficiency in all 3 crops. The high soil salt levels and pH and the low organic carbon decreased the suitability of the soil to the crops. Soil conditions exerted a considerable effect on the nutrient status.
