Abstract : Shoots of the cv. Langra were taken from the Feb. and Mar. flushes for grafting on 12-month-old seedlings. The scion shoots were either detached and grafted at once or detached and stored for up to 10 days. In some cases the shoots were defoliated and the scions were taken 5 to 15 days after defoliation. Six months after grafting the length of scion shoot was greatest (17.63 cm) in shoots taken 10 days after defoliation, and was least in shoots stored for 10 days (12.63 cm).
