Abstract : Studies were carried out with 10- to 15-year-old trees of the cv. Dashehari. The total leaf area of a tree was closely related to its trunk girth. Leaf area on the secondary and tertiary branches was also closely related to their girths, and pooling the leaf area estimates of individual branches, based on girth, gave the total leaf area on a tree.
