A rapid method for leaf area measurement in mango.

Abstract : In studies with the cultivars Mulgoa, Neelum and Bangalora, 50 mature leaves were randomly collected in June from 4 parts of the canopy of each cv. The length and breadth at the widest part were measured, and the product of length and breadth was calculated. The procedure is outlined. A common factor or constant (k) was worked out for the 3 cultivars. The k values obtained for each cv. were averaged and the common factor obtained was 0.737. It is suggested that it may be used efficiently even with intact leaves.
