Abstract : Investigations between 1977 and 1981 were carried out in 12 orchards in different districts in West Bengal with the cultivars Fazli, Himsagar, Langra, Gopalbhog (Bombai) and Aswina. The leaves were sampled for N, P and K before flowering (Jan.), after harvest (July) and after the rainy season (Sep.) of each year. The soil was also analysed for N, P and K. The data are tabulated. Fruit yield was directly related to leaf nutrient status. A similar beneficial association between soil N and P, before flowering, and yield was noted.
