Abstract : Heat treatment, in an experimental vapour heat chamber of 1.14 m³, was tested for control of eggs and 1st-, 2nd- and 3rd-instar larvae of the tephritid Dacus cucurbitae infesting mango fruits. Treatment at 43.5±0.5°C for 3 h completely killed a total of 82?792 immature stages of D. cucurbitae without causing any injuries to the fruits. Some injuries to mango fruits were observed after treatment at 47.5 ± 0.5 °C for 3 hours.
