Scientific pest management to increase the productivity of mango in Uttar Pradesh.

Abstract : Information is given on crop productivity of 28 farmers growing mangoes under an integrated pest management programme in Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1985 and 1986. The procedures followed in the programme included manuring in June and October, banding in November to prevent the ascent of nymphs of mealybugs [Coccoidea] and treatment against insect pests such as Erosomyia with Dimecron [phosphamidon] 100 EC and diazinon 50 EC. Wettable sulfur was used to control powdery mildew.
