Bionomics of mango nursery leaf eating caterpillar.

Abstract : The bionomics of the geometrid Thalassodes dissita on mango were studied in the laboratory using eggs and larvae collected from the field in June 1984. Preoviposition, oviposition and post-oviposition periods lasted 1.1, 1.5 and 2.1 days, respectively. Larvae completed their development within 11 days and passed through 5 instars. Pupation occurred on the leaves and lasted for 6.5 days. The longevity of male and female adults was 3.6 and 4.7 days, and the total life cycle lasted for 21-29 days.
