Abstract : Only 25.7% of the orchard collections of fruits with black irregular lesions at the stalk end showed the involvement of a single fungus, either Aspergillus niger or Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]. On the remainder there were mixed infections, with 10 patterns of association of 2, 3 or 4 spp., including in addition Sclerotium rolfsii, Botryodiplodia theobromae, Fusarium equiseti, Curvularia maculans [C. eragrostidis] and Cladosporium sp.
