Occurrence of malformin-like substances in seedlings of mango (Mangifera indica L.).

Abstract : Four malformin-like substances were detected by chromatography in ether soluble extracts of stem and root tissues of malformed mango seedlings. One was identified as a malformin A-like substance. It occurred at 42.0 µg/g in stems and 41.0 µg/g in roots of malformed seedlings, but was absent from those of healthy seedlings.
