Physico-chemical studies of some varieties of mango grown at Nawabganj.

Abstract : Tabulated data are presented on the mean fruit weight, fruit size and thickness, proportion of different parts, total soluble solids (TSS) content and stone size of 13 varieties. Considerable variation was observed in most traits. Fruit weight varied from 202.8 to 1014.4 g, being highest in cv. Fazli. The edible portion ranged from 64.94 to 81.49%, being highest in cv. Krishnachura. TSS content ranged from 15 to 21.44%, being highest in Gopalbhog. This variety, however, had the highest non-edible portion and stone percentages. Fazli had the largest stone.
