Physico-chemical analysis of some important mango varieties of Bihar.

Abstract : Data are tabulated on 12 quality characters for 10 varieties grown in Bihar. Fazli produced the heaviest fruits (506 g) followed by Langra (310 g) and Paharpur-Sinduri (294 g). Fazli and Langra also had a high pulp content. Langra had the highest pulp : stone ratio (7.15), ascorbic acid concentration (136 mg/100 g pulp), total soluble solids content (21.8%), reducing sugar content (5.82%) and non-reducing sugar content (11.5%).
