Flowering in mango - approach and achievements.

Abstract : Factors affecting the regularity of flowering are reviewed, one of the most important being variety. Most varieties from northern India flower in alternate years, while those from the south tend to flower every year but produce poor quality fruit. Other factors affecting flowering considered include climate, pattern of growth flushes, shoot maturity, crop load, cultural practices, and nutritional and hormonal factors.
