Abstract : The study examines the capital requirement for establishing a mango orchard, suggests a management plan for meeting the capital requirement, and brings out the implications of the above plan with respect to credit requirement and repayment. Data were collected from Chintamani and Srinivasapura Taluks in Kolar District, Karnataka. Growing of inter-crops like cereals, pulses and vegetables during non-bearing period has no adverse effect on growth and yield of mango trees. Short term credit requirements were suggested.
