Abstract : Of the bird pests considered, the roseringed parakeet (Psittacula krameri) was the most serious; it caused 25-100% damage, mainly to guavas, litchis, mangoes and peaches. Damage caused by other parakeet species and by other birds is also discussed with brief mention of control methods.
