Abstract : A survey was conducted in the Philippines in 1986 to determine the presence or absence of the mango pest Sternochetus mangiferae in that country. Of 82?500 immature mango fruit samples examined during the first phase, not a single specimen of the pest was found. Further examinations of 82?500 mature mango fruit samples were being conducted.
