Abstract : Studies are reported on the relative resistance of 23 mango cvs to the gall midge Procontarinia matteiana. Chandrakaran was immune and the cv. Peter was the most susceptible. Resistance was associated with a lower amino acids content and higher sugar and crude fibre contents in the leaves.
