Propagation of mango by different methods of grafting.

Abstract : Mango cvs Gopalvog, Mohanvog, Langra and Fazlee were contact grafted onto 4-month-old seedling rootstocks grown in pots or plastic bags. The success rates with potted rootstocks were 68%, 68%, 72% and 72%, respectively, and with bagged rootstocks 56, 52, 56 and 52%, respectively. In another trial with potted rootstocks, the corresponding success rates were 52, 48, 52 and 48% for side grafting, 48, 52, 52 and 48% for cleft grafting and 28, 24, 20 and 24% for whip grafting. All experiments were carried out in early August.
