Abstract : A field survey was conducted in different areas of Egypt from March 1979 to February 1981 to identify the aphid species associated with 14 different fruit trees. Aphis gossypii was found on 2 types of orange, mandarin, lime, guava, pear, apple and mango from the onset of new tree growth (end of February) to the end of September. Hyalopterus pruni was found on peach and apricot from February until September, and A. punicae was found on pomegranate over the same period. Eriosoma lanigerum and Pentalonia nigronervosa were found on apple and banana, resp. A. craccivora was found on citrus trees in Quena and Assiut provinces during March and April. A few alate forms of Myzus persicae and A. nerii [A. fabae] were found on citrus trees in Qualubia province.
