On the presence in Portugal of the cochineal Aulacaspis tubercularis Newst. (Homoptera: Coccoidea).

Abstract : Three adult females of the diaspidid Aulacaspis tubercularis were found together with eggs, young females and male larvae and pupae on a mango fruit which was imported into Portugal from Venezuela. The adult female and pupae are described and illustrated. The geographical distribution and habitat are given. It is suggested that the diaspidid could become a pest of new plants in the near future.
