Abstract : Cu uptake and partitioning were investigated in the cv. Langra. Cu concentration ranged from 8 p.p.m. in the roots to 13 p.p.m. in the flowers/fruits with an average of 10 p.p.m. for the whole tree. For each month of the year, the amountof Cu in different parts of the tree was expressed as a percentage of the amount in the whole tree. The resultant patterns obtained from these data indicated transport of Cu in appreciable amounts between tree parts to meet intense demands. The results showed that dependence on mere concentration of a nutrient element to assess the nutritional status of the tree would be misleading. The nutrient quantities present were found to be equally important.
