Abstract : Partial deblossoming (removal of 100 healthy and malformed buds per tree) of 6-year-old cv. Dusheri trees at the bud-burst stage significantly reduced the emergence, length and breadth of the remaining panicles, and increased the percentage of hermaphrodite flowers. Malformed buds, whether on trees which were deblossomed or not, produced malformed panicles (100%) which failed to set fruit. Hence, partial deblossoming did not improve the productivity of trees showing floral malformation.
