Studies on fruit drop in Mulgoa mango (Mangifera indica L.).

Abstract : The mean initial fruit set in Mulgoa mango was 11.25 fruits/panicle and the ultimate fruit drop 98.65%. Fruit shedding was heaviest during the first 3 weeks. The treatment of panicles bearing 3-week-old fruit with 2,4,5-T at 10, 30, 50 or 60 p.p.m. did not affect fruit drop or the weight or maturation period of the remaining fruit.
