Abstract : Notes are given on the distribution of Dacus dorsalis, which is found in most parts of southern Asia east of Pakistan, and more recently in Hawaii and California. It attacks over 150 kinds of fruits, especially mango, avocado, pawpaw and citrus. A detailed description and illustrations are provided on the morphology of the larva from specimens in Hawaii. The characters distinguishing this larva from that of Ceratitis capitata are given.
