Abstract : Investigation proved that harvesting mangoes by the limb shake-catch method is technically feasible. An inertia type slider-crank limb shaker was designed and developed. Field tests on 2 local cultivars showed that to obtain max. fruit removal with min. tree damage, the shaker should be operated in the range of 7.5-10.2 cm stroke and 800-700 rev/min for 4 s.
