Abstract : Fifteen-year-old trees of the cultivar Dashehari were subjected to 6 treatments involving leaf removal and/or ringing. Removing 50 or 100% of the leaves gave 79 and 73% fruit set, respectively, but when this was combined with shoot ringing, levels of fruit set were 13 and 0%, respectively. Ringing alone resulted in 19% fruit set compared with 90% in the intact control.
