Abstract : In trials with the cv. Pairi, softwood, veneer or stone grafting showed significant differences in graft success, survival and growth of scion. Softwood grafting during the period July to Sep. gave higher success (70-100%) and ultimate survival after 9 months and also produced maximum scion growth, compared with the other methods. High mortality of young stone grafts demonstrated the unsuitability of this method under Akola conditions.
