Abstract : Ten-year trials were carried out with the following grafting combinations: cv. Eldon as rootstock, cultivars Julie, Malda, Manzano Tetenené, Eldon and Irwin as the interstocks, and Edward and Palmer as the scion cultivars. Data recorded in years 3, 6 and 9 are tabulated on rootstock and interstock diameters, scion diameter and scion diameter:interstock diameter ratio, tree height and yield efficiency, and the number and weight of fruits produced. In the 3rd year, Edward produced significantly more fruits than Palmer, especially with the Eldon interstock; however, in the 6th and 9th years Palmer outyielded Edward two-fold, especially with the Irwin interstock.
