Abstract : Mangoes were treated with combinations of prochloraz, benomyl and hot water in an attempt to control C. gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]. Fruit was then stored at 13°C in air or in atmospheres comprising 2% CO2 and 4, 6 or 8% O2 for 1 month. Prochloraz dip at 250 p.p.m. for 30 s and storage in 6% O2 was the most effective control programme. Mangoes inoculated with D. dominicana were treated with water at 51, 53, 55 or 57° for 3, 5 or 7 min. Water at 55° for 5 min was the most effective.
