Abstract : Harumanis mangoes harvested at different stages of maturity showed symptoms of insidious fruit rot whilst on trees in Karang. Early harvesting at 1-2 weeks before normal harvesting (90-100 d after fruit set) only slightly reduced fruit rot incidence. Fruit quality and chemical characteristics were poor. Ethephon hastened ripening but did not improve fruit quality.
