Abstract : The efficacy of various banding materials (Folidol [parathion], BHC [HCH], alkathene and grease) and insecticides (0.05% dimethoate, methyl demeton [demeton-methyl] and monocrotophos and 0.1% dichlorvos) for the control of the pseudococcid Drosicha mangiferae on mangoes was studied in the field in Jammu and Kashmir, India, during 1981-83. Lower nymphal populations were observed following all the treatments than on untreated trees. Alkathene bands were the most effective, followed by grease bands.
