Mango leafhoppers (Homoptera: Cicadellidae) - a review.

Abstract : The taxonomy and biology of 10 species of Cicadellidae which attack mangoes are reviewed. The distribution and damage caused by these species are outlined. Details of the biology and natural enemies of Amritodus atkinsoni, Idioscopus clypealis and I. niveosparsus and of alternative food plants of A. atkinsoni and I. niveosparsus are given. Pesticides which have been used for the control of cicadellids on mangoes are listed with reference to the dosage used and toxicity.
