Abstract : A field trial was carried out in mango orchards in the Lucknow district of Uttar Pradesh, India, to determine the effectiveness of several insecticides against Idioscopus clypealis and their toxicity to its parasitoid Tetrastichus sp. Deltamethrin (Decis) at 0.01% and phoxim (Volaton) at 0.05% were least toxic to the parasitoid as well as being highly effective against the pest, and it is suggested that these 2 compounds might be included in future integrated control programmes in mango.
