Abstract : The biology of the cicadellid Amrasca splendens was studied in the laboratory and in a mango orchard in India during July 1985 to March 1986. The egg stage lasted an average of 3.83 days. There were 5 nymphal instars and this stage lasted 6-12 days. The total life cycle lasted 12.13 days on average. Populations were first recorded in September, peaked in January and declined in February and March.
