Abstract : Among fruits from 8 Mangifera indica varieties, harvested during 1981-82 and 1982-83, size, weight and volume were positively correlated. Cv. Banglora produced the highest fruit weight and volume (315.0 g and 289 cm³ in 1981-82 and 315 g and 288.0 cm³ in 1982-83, respectively). Maximum total solids content was found in Bombay Green, being 21.1 and 21.2%, respectively, in each successive year. Ascorbic acid, acidity and reducing sugar content exhibited a close positive correlation. Cv. Mallika had the highest pH value (4.9 in 1981-82 and 5.1 in 1982-83).
