Dieback of mango (Mangifera indica L.) and behaviour of five varieties with respect to the causal agent.

Abstract : Dieback, floral necrosis and gummosis were observed on 10-year-old trees at Huaral, Peru. The pathogen isolated was identified as Botryodiplodia theobromae. Pathogenicity was confirmed by grafting and by inoculation with conidial suspensions. Susceptibility was lowest in Trompo and Kafro among the 5 cultivars tested.
