Abstract : While the younger leaves of mango cv. Langra show glutamine synthetase (GS) activity in the chloroplast only, the mature leaves display activity in the chloroplast and cytosol fractions. The pattern of subcellular distribution also conforms with that of a typical C3 plant. Properties of GS isoforms are described.
