Abstract : In field tests over two years in Egypt on the insecticidal control of Aceria mangiferae Sayed on mango, emulsion sprays of 0.15% phospalone (Zolone) or formothion (Anthio) (both with 1% triona oil) gave the best control of the mite in 1967 and 1968, respectively. Treatment reduced mite damage (stunted buds and malformed inflorescences) and increased the yield. Pruning of affected buds and inflorescences in winter resulted in smaller mite populations during the subsequent flowering period.
