Abstract : In trials between 1984 and 1986, 30-year-old, alternate-bearing Alphonso trees received 15 different treatment combinations involving KNO3, KH2PO4, diammonium phosphate, MgSO4 or ZnSO4 at various concentrations, applied alone or with urea. The treatments were applied at 15-day intervals starting from the second week in Sep. until the second week in Dec. The highest yield in the off year (129 fruits/tree compared with 26 in the control) was obtained with KH2PO4 at 1% + urea at 1%. This treatment also gave the highest yield in the on year.
