Response of mango varieties and hybrids to epicotyl grafting.

Abstract : Three weeks after the stones were sown in sand, scion shoots of 7 cultivars and 5 hybrids were grafted in June onto the epicotyls of the resulting seedlings. The grafted plants, potted in clay pots and kept in the open, were assessed for success 4 months later. The data are tabulated. Grafting success ranged from 66.1% in the hybrid Mallika and 64.6% in the cultivar Dashehari to 34% in the hybrid Amrapali.
