Occurrence of leafspot of mango in Karnataka.

Abstract : During 1987-88, a severe leafspot was observed in mango orchards in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. Symptoms of the disease are described. The causal organism was isolated and identified as Alternaria alternata and its pathogenicity was confirmed. This is the first report of A. alternata on mangoes in Karnataka.
