Abstract : Three insecticides were tested against Membracidae on 10 varieties or hybrids of mango in Karnataka, India, in 1986-88. Among different grafts, Dashahari and Totapuri were the most affected, with membracid populations ranging from 20 to 25 nymphs and adults/tender growing point, while in the other grafts, populations averaged 10-15. Among insecticidal treatments, 2 applications of carbofuran 3% G to the soil at an interval of 30 days, or 2 spray applications of 0.04% monocrotophos to the foliage at an interval of 15 days, gave satisfactory control.
