Abstract : Leaf samples of 41 Mangifera indica cultivars were characterized electrophoretically using the isoenzyme systems aconitase, isocitrate dehydrogenase, leucine aminopeptidase, [cytosol aminopeptidase], phosphoglucose isomerase [glucose-6-phosphate isomerase], phosphoglucomutase and triosephosphate isomerase. The outcross origin of some of the mango cultivars was supported by the isoenzymic banding patterns. Reported parentage of some other cultivars was not consistent with their isoenzymic banding patterns.
