Abstract : Considerable variation was found among the genotypes studied, overall mean yields ranging from 5.6 kg/tree (0.39 t/ha) for Florigón to 63 kg/tree (4.35 t/ha) for Haden. The most productive varieties in each of 3 maturity categories were Sin Semilla, Diplomático, Edward, Haden and Manila (early; May to mid June), Tommy Atkins, Springfels, Davis Haden and Fabián (mid-early; 16 June to 15 July) and Kent and Keitt (late; 16 July to mid August). All varieties except Sensation showed irregular bearing. It was also noted that interplanting of Sin Semilla with any variety except Manila reduced its fruit quality, and that Manila and Carabao are slow to enter their productive phase.
