Abstract : X. c. pv. mangiferaeindicae infection was observed on seedlings of mango cultivars Alphanso, Baganpalli, Dashehari, Langra, Malgoa, Raspuri and Totapuri when infected peel was added in the soil. Disease was also noticed when fruits were inoculated at the stem end before extraction of stones. The pathogen colonised the cotyledon scar and attacked first the leaves near the soil surface.
