Performance of mango varieties against bacterial canker.

Abstract : The relative resistance/susceptiblity of 30 mango varieties to Xanthomonas campestris pv. mangiferaeindicae was investigated using 2- year-old saplings. None of the varieties were resistant 10 d after spray inoculation. Langra, Dashehari, Chausa, Bombai, Zardalu, Sunder Langra, Gulabkhas, Kesar and Mankurad were moderately resistant; Bombai green, Hemsagar, Samar Bahish Chausa, Prabha Shankar, Mahmood Bahar, Fazali, Swarnrekha and Anupan were susceptible; and Alphanso, Mulgoa, Bangalora, Neelum, Mallika, Amrapali, Baneshan, Safed Bathua, Rumani, Fernandin, Krishnabhog and Vanraj were highly susceptible.
