Abstract : Mango scions, 5- to 7-mm in diameter, were cut to a uniform length of 15 cm and wedge-grafted after their basal portions were immersed for 1 h in solutions containing (a) 200 p.p.m. GA, (b) 500 p.p.m. kinetin, (c) 200 p.p.m. GA + 250 p.p.m. kinetin, or (d) 200 p.p.m. GA + 500 p.p.m. kinetin, or in (e) a control solution (no growth regulators added). The highest percentage (87.5%) success was obtained with untreated scions. Solutions containing GA + kinetin adversely affected the length, girth, number of leaves and leaf area of the new growth. Values for leaf area and girth were greater for scions treated with kinetin than with GA when applied alone. Kinetin alone also gave a higher percentage (35%) success than GA alone (10%).
