Abstract : Of 11 mango cultivars veneer-grafted onto Pacharisi seedling rootstocks, the best graft-take was obtained for Chinnarasam and Peddarasam. The graft-take of Banganapally was increased by dipping the scionwood in BA solution (10 or 100 p.p.m.) before grafting. IBA, NAA and GA3 (100 and 1000 p.p.m.) were either ineffective or detrimental. Air layering of 9 mango cultivars was assessed by measuring % rooted layers, and number of roots per layer. Mortality of layers after separation varied with the cultivar, and the dwarf types Mahmooda Vikarabad and Hybrid 13/3 Rumani X Neelum had the highest final % survival. Maximum rooting occurred in July and Aug. after which it declined towards Dec.
