Abstract : In 2 separate trials, the mango cultivars Dashehari (1977) and Langra (1978) were propagated by air layering, budding, inarching, stone grafting and veneer grafting. Height, stock girth, scion girth and spread of trees planted in a randomized block design with 4 replicates, were measured. There were no significant differences in the growth parameters of Dashehari, but with Langra, budding gave plants of small stock girth yet large scion girth and spread. Inarching and veneer grafting gave Langra trees similar in size to budded trees but without the narrow stock. Air-layered plants on their own roots had the slowest rate of growth.
