Abstract : Nursery beds (containing sand, soil and farmyard manure in equal proportions) were sprayed with atrazine, diuron and fluchloralin (2 and 3 kg a.i./ha), and oxyfluorfen (0.5 and 1 kg a.i./ha), before sowing with Pairi mango stones. Mango leaves were sampled for analysis 6 weeks after the sprays. Plants from herbicide-treated and hand-weeded beds generally had higher leaf N and lower Mg than plants from unweeded control beds. Herbicide application affected leaf P, K, Ca and Fe levels but without any general trend.
